Are you curious about who's watching your TikTok videos? Well, you're not alone.
Many creators have been wondering the same thing: can you see who views your TikToks?
The short answer is no, you cannot see the names or profiles of users who view your TikTok videos. However, that doesn't mean there's no way to find out who's watching your content.
In this article, I'll show you what information TikTok gives you about your viewers and how you can use that data to get an idea of who's tuning into your videos. This can help you optimize your account for popularity and growth and then monetize it to earn money.
Let’s get started.
What Does TikTok Show You About Your Viewers?
TikTok doesn't give you any personally identifiable information about your viewers. That means you can't see their names, usernames, or profile pictures.
However, TikTok does give you some general information about your viewers. Here's what you can see:
- The number of views each of your videos gets
- The number of likes and comments your videos have received
- The geographic location of your TikTok viewers
- The genders and age ranges of your viewers
- The type of devices your viewers are using
This information can be helpful. It can help you understand who's watching your videos and what kind of content they're interested in.
For example, if you notice that most of your views are coming from a certain geographic location, you might want to consider making videos that appeal to that audience. Or, if you notice that your videos are getting a lot of views from users in a certain age range, you can adjust your content accordingly.
How to See Who Views Your TikTok Profile and Videos
Unfortunately, there's no surefire way to see exactly who is watching your TikTok videos. However, there are a few things you can do to get an idea of who your viewers are.
Here are a few methods you can use:
See Who is Following You
The easiest way to see who's interested in your content is to check who is following you on TikTok. To do this, go to your profile and tap the “Followers” tab. This will show you a list of all the users who are following you.
Those who follow you are most likely to be interested in your content, so they're likely to be among your most loyal viewers.
Check Out Who is Liking and Commenting on Your Videos
Another way to see who's watching your videos on TikTok is to check out the likes and comments on your videos. To do this, go to your profile and tap on a video.
Then, tap on the “Likes” or “Comments” tab to see a list of users who have liked or commented on that video.
This can give you an idea of which of your videos are getting the most attention and who is interested in that type of content.
Look at Your TikTok Analytics
TikTok also provides you with some general analytics about your videos. To access your TikTok Analytics, go to your profile and tap on the “three vertical dots” for accessing the menu. Then, go to “Creator tools.”
The next step is to select “Analytics” from the drop-down menu.
This will show you some general information about your videos, including the number of views, likes, comments, and shares.
TikTok also provides some general insights, such as your most popular videos, the average watch time of your videos, and your audience engagement.
While you don’t get information about the specific user account which viewed your TikTok video, these analytics can give you a general idea of who is watching your videos on TikTok and what type of content they're interested in.
Use a Third-Party Tool to Track Your TikTok Analytics
If you want to get more specific information about your viewers, you might want to consider using a third-party tool. Some popular options are:
- Popsters for individual post performance metrics and insights on the latest trends, songs, challenges, etc.
- Exolyt for TikTok account and video reports, easy access to the latest trends, automated campaign monitoring, social listening, hashtag analytics, and more.
- TikBuddy for data tracking, account management, identifying high-ranking TikTok creators, etc.
- Socialinsider for analyzing your TikTok profile, post engagement, the total number of video plays and interactions, influencer identification and comparison, competitor analysis, and more.
Most of these tools and other TikTok analytics tools offer a free trial, so you can try them out before committing to a paid plan. While there's no surefire way to see who is watching your TikTok videos, the methods described above can help you get a better sense of your viewer demographics. This information can be helpful in understanding who your target audience is and what kind of content they're looking for.
How to See the View Count of Your TikTok Videos
Your video view count is a good indicator of your videos' popularity. It tells you how many people have watched your video and can give you an idea of which of your videos are resonating with your audience.
There are a few different ways to see how many views your video gets. The first way is to go to your profile and tap on a video. Then, tap on the “views” tab to see how many views that video has gotten.
Another way to see your view count is to go to your profile and tap on the “three vertical dots” menu. Then, select “Analytics” from the drop-down menu. This will show you some general information about your videos, including the number of views, likes, comments, and shares.
Lastly, you can use a third-party TikTok analytics tool, like those mentioned in the previous section of this article, to get detailed information about your TikTok account, including the number of views on your videos.
No matter which method you use to check your view count, keep in mind that the number is constantly changing as more people watch your videos. So, just use your view count as a general indicator of how popular your TikTok videos are and whether or not they're resonating with your audience.
How to See Who Has Liked, Commented on, or Shared Your TikTok Videos
The easiest way to see who liked your TikTok video is to go to your profile and click on your video. Then, tap on the “Hearts” icon on the right-hand side of your video screen. A list of everyone who has liked the video will pop up.
If you want to see who has commented on your video, you can tap on the “Comments” icon next to your video. A list of everyone who has commented on the video will pop up.
TikTok also lets you like or reply to the comments users make on your video. Reacting or responding to comments is a good way to show that you are engaged with your audience and make them feel like their voice is being heard.
You can also check to see who has liked or commented on your videos by going to the “Notifications” tab on the TikTok app. Tap on the “Likes” or “Comments” icon to see a list of notifications about people liking or commenting on your videos.
As far as video shares are concerned, TikTok doesn't let you see the individual user profiles of those who have shared your videos. However, you can see how many times your video has been shared by going to your profile and clicking on your video.
Then, see the number of times your video has been shared under the “Shares” icon on the right-hand side of your video screen.
It's important to note that TikTok users will only be able to share your videos if you've set your TikTok account “Public.” If your account is set to “Private,” only people you've approved as followers will be able to view, like, or comment on your videos. They will also not be able to share your video in their circles.
Other than visiting your profile, you can track who views, likes, and interacts with your TikTok videos via TikTok Analytics. However, for this, you need to first switch to a TikTok Pro account – either a Creator or a Business account.
Here's how to do that:
- Go to your profile.
Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear.
Go to “Settings and Privacy” > “Manage account” and then, click on “Switch to Pro Account.”
Choose one of the two types of Pro account – either a Creator account or a Business account.
If you're a regular user who wants to get insights into their account or you're a content creator who's looking to make some money off your videos, I'd suggest that you go with the Creator account.
Now that you have a Pro account, you can access TikTok Analytics from the “Creator tools.”
It will give you insights into:
- Who viewed your TikTok videos
- Who followed your TikTok profile
- Who liked and commented on your TikTok video
- The number of profile visits you got
- The number of shares your TikTok videos received
- Your videos with the maximum number of user interactions (likes, comments, shares)
- Who followed your TikTok profile recently
- Total play time of your video
- Average watch time of your video
All of these insights can help you adjust your overall TikTok growth strategy for the best results.
How to Control Your TikTok Video Views
Now that you know the different ways to see who viewed your TikTok videos and interacted with them, let’s find out if you can control who views your TikTok views.
Well, the app’s algorithm decides who sees your videos in their feed based on the user's interests, interactions, and other factors. However, you can use the right hashtags (relevant to your content's topic), popular music and TikTok songs, and the app's tagging feature to attract more people to see your videos.
You can also try to get featured on TikTok’s official page or on popular influencers’ pages to get more views on your videos.
What if you don't want to show your videos to a few selective accounts?
TikTok allows you to block specific TikTok users from viewing your profile and videos. Here's how you can do that:
- Open the TikTok app and go to your profile.
- Tap on the three dots at the top-right corner of the screen and select “Settings” and then “Privacy.”
- In the “Privacy” section, tap on “Blocked Accounts.”

Once unblocked, that user will be able to see your profile and interact with your videos again.
